Kunst-Dreieck

The Art Triangle Bielefeld (Kunst-Dreieck Bielefeld) is delighted to present our second joint event, bringing together the Kunstverein Bielefeld, the Kunstforum Hermann Stenner and the Kunsthalle Bielefeld, as part of their ongoing covid pandemic cooperation. Beginning on Saturday, June 20, 2020, the Kunst-Dreieck will be made available for a digital audience. The three Bielefeld institutions will offer three combined digital guided tours, inspired by the 1987 film Der Lauf der Dinge (The Way Things Go) by Fischli & Weiss, the Swiss artistic duo. The film is a fascinating exercise in playful inventiveness, presenting a series of movements and chain reactions. Similarly, the tours of the Art Triangle – based on the terms movement, gender, and mythology – move from institution to institution in a domino effect. The openness of digital space breaks down walls that separate buildings, meaning the tour can interweave three exhibitions: Johannes Itten: Art as Life at the Kunstforum Hermann Stenner, Julie Béna’s Les lèvres rouges at the Kunstverein Bielefeld and Antonius Höckelmann: All in All at the Kunsthalle Bielefeld.

The films feature the directors of the three cooperating institutions in different conversational constellations: Nadine Droste (Kunstverein Bielefeld), Christiane Heuwinkel (Kunstforum Hermann Stenner) and Christina Végh (Kunsthalle Bielefeld), along with colleagues Henrike Mund (curator, Kunsthalle Bielefeld), Jana Wieking (curatorial assistant, Kunstverein Bielefeld) and Laura Oymanns (education and communication officer, Kunstforum Hermann Stenner).
